These first posts are always the most difficult, so I will make this simple. This blog is a food blog; geared toward ways to inexpensively eat well. Most foods and recipes included here will be inexpensive to make overall. there will be a few exceptions to this but it is worth it. Recipes will be in both metric and US measurements when able.
My first tip for eating for less: do your own prep work. Those prepackaged foods often are more expensive than fresh foods, it only takes some cutting and measuring. Often I will make a large amount of rice for several days worth of meals and portion it out for fast re-heating later. I also portion and freeze many of my fresh foods if there is a sale on something that I know I will eat a lot of but not enough to eat what I buy before it spoils. Be advised to do your own research on how to freeze some fresh foods; many require partially cooking and will not be firm when thawed.
